Bonfire Hot Dog Roast
This evening the park sponsored a bonfire on the beach. Everyone brought a dish to share and we sat around the wonderful fire until the wind drove us back inside. There were hot dogs to roast and marshmallows to make into smores. These camping folks are accustomed to pot luck meals and bring some creative and tasty foods.

We are not alone

John and I hosted an impromptu Obama Inauguration celebration/potluck brunch at our rv. We watched the tv coverage then clinked glasses of bubbly. Everyone was delighted to know that there are Progressives in Texas. It is a concern for Progressives visiting from other states. We are concerned about having Obama stickers on our vehicles as we travel the former slave states.
WE DID IT!!

"Our challenges may be new. The instruments with which we meet them may be new. But those values upon which our success depends - hard work and honesty, courage and fair play, tolerance and curiosity, loyalty and patriotism - these things are old. These things are true. They have been the quiet force of progress throughout our history. What is demanded then is a return to these truths.

Martin Luther King Day
Today was one of the most beautiful warm, clear, sunny days since we arrived on the Gulf Coast. We spent several hours on the beach, John rode his new bike, we picked up starfish and pretty shells, took pictures and made new friends.
The park host eventually rode his bike to find us to let us know that the Prius's horn had been going off for over 2 hours. By the time we returned to the campsite, the battery was dead so we had it towed into Corpus Christi for a new one.
We are excited about the historic Obama inauguration tomorrow and will get together with other supporters to celebrate a change in the future of the country.
