Santa Fe, NM

The day we visited Santa Fe, the weather started out sunny and warm but soon turned cold, overcast, and ice balls pelted us. Not being dressed for that type of weather, we moved on. Santa Fe has beautiful architecture, public art, and great little shops full of pricey art objects and turquoise jewelry.

El Malpais National Conservation Area, NM

We have our mail forwarded to us, at a local post office, when we stay in one place long enough for it to reach us. Thinking we would be camping near Casa Blanca, NM, we ordered our mail sent to their tiny post office. As it turned out, we opted to stay in Albuquerque, so when the mail arrived, we drove an hour to pick it up at Casa Blanca.

El Malpais National Conservation Area is about an hour farther west from Casa Blanca, so we spent the remaining daylight hours walking on the 3000 year old lava flow, seeing the natural bridge, and enjoying golden hues of the setting sun on the cliffs in the park.

Petroglyph National Monument, Abq, NM

The warm weather has returned to NM, so we hiked the rugged trails of Petroglyph National Monument today. There are 200,000 glyphs on the escarpment but only 200 viewable from the trails. Here are a few that showed up well in photos:
