Camp Dearborn, Milford, MI

Two of John's sisters live in the Detroit area, so we are staying at Camp Dearborn, which is a large golf and recreation area near the GM proving grounds. They have several lakes, a pool, cabins, two laundries, and a ton of camping spaces.

Jane came to dinner at the RV the next day after we arrived. Ann hosted us all at her house for a steak dinner last weekend...YUMMY!! Jane made John's favorite potato salad like his Mom used to make.

Last night John's friends, Al and Frank treated us to terrific pizza and salad at Buddy's Pizza, in Livonia. I finally got to meet their wives, Sue and Lori, this time. When John and I first got married, several of his buddies came to Rockwall to play their annual horseshoe tournament at our house so I'd met all the guys then.

A friend suggested we tour the salt mines below Detroit but they don't permit tours any longer. Another friend told me to try Vernor's ginger ale, which I can now attest has an aftertaste that must be an acquired appreciation.
