East Harbor State Park, OH

Our 18th anniversary found us on the shores of Lake Erie at East Harbor State Park, where we enjoyed beautiful weather which made baking in the Sun Oven a daily possibility, long walks along the shore of both Lake Erie and the Sandusky Bay, and surprisingly tasty Cali-Mex food at Margaritaville.

This park bills itself as "high capacity" camping but the sites are really nearly the size of those at other parks. It is spotless, with newly paved streets and sites, a beach, several well maintained walking trails, and the best dump station we've used yet.

We drove to the Cleveland Museum of Art one day, Edison's birthplace in Milan another, and visited the lighthouse and the old keepers house another. On the 4th, we watched distant fireworks over the lake from Cedar Point.
