Taft, Fogarty Creek, Boiler Bay

South, down Hwy 101, from the campground, we saw kites, including the "Grandkids", at D River Park in Lincoln City. Every year the city hosts two major kite festivals and with the prevailing beach winds, flying kites is the perfect year 'round hobby.

Taft was our next stop, to listen to blues music on the beach and soak up the sun behind the "World Famous" Mo's restaurant, known for its tasty clam chowder. Folks were catching crabs in Siletz Bay, flying kites, strolling the beach with their dogs, and enjoying the second summer warm sunshine.

Continuing south, we stopped at Boiler Bay State Park for a salad and clam chowder picnic overlooking the surf. Crows and a seagull kept watch for errant trets!

Strolling the beach at Fogarty Creek around low tide is a good opportunity to find agates. We checked out the tidepools and pocketed tiny surf tumbled agates as the sun set.
